Resdev is a British resin flooring manufacturer based at Pumaflor House in Elland, West Yorkshire. It was established in the 1970s and has stayed in the hands of the Wright family ever since, which makes it one of the few genuine independents left in a market where most of the recognisable names now sit inside international groups. A Yorkshire manufacturer that makes its own resin
Resdev is a manufacturer rather than a rebadger. The resin is formulated and made at its own plant, which is the practical difference behind most of what follows. Lead times are set in Yorkshire rather than by an overseas parent. Colour and specification variations can be handled directly. Technical support comes from the people who wrote the formulation.
That matters more on some projects than others. On a straightforward warehouse coating it changes very little. A coating sits on the slab at a fraction of a millimetre. A polyurethane screed is laid at 4mm to 9mm and behaves like a floor in its own right. It absorbs thermal shock, so a wash-down at 80 degrees does not debond it. It takes impact that would chip a coating. It is the standard answer wherever hot water, steam, animal fats, sugars or aggressive cleaning chemicals are part of the working day. Resdev publishes the range by thickness and duty, which makes selection unusually legible. Pumadur SL sits at 2mm to 3mm for medium duty self-smoothing work. Pumadur MD is flow applied at 4mm to 6mm. Pumadur RT and Pumadur HF are the heavy duty screeds at 6mm to 9mm. Coving and wall render carry the system up the wall as Pumadur CG and Pumadur WR, over-coated in Pumadur TF, so floor and wall finish as one detail rather than two trades. Where a slab needs building back up first, Pumabulk is the infill mortar in the same family, laid from 10mm to 60mm.

FeRFA membership and what it signals
FeRFA manufacturer membership is not a badge anyone can buy. It puts a manufacturer inside the body that defines how resin floor types are classified in the UK, which is why FeRFA type numbers appear in specifications at all. When a specification says FeRFA Type 8, everyone in the chain knows what thickness and duty is meant.
The practical use for a client is simple. If you are comparing quotations that name different manufacturers, the FeRFA type is the thing to compare, not the product name. Two systems at the same FeRFA type are doing the same job, whatever they are called on the tin.

Warehousing, engineering and general manufacturing reach for Pumaflor because a well-specified epoxy is the cost-effective answer on a sound slab that stays dry. Car parks reach for Deckmaster because a deck is a waterproofing problem before it is a flooring one.
Corporate and retail interiors are the fourth case and the one people do not expect from an industrial manufacturer. Mozaico exists for exactly that: resin terrazzo and multi-coloured quartz specified for how the floor looks as much as for what it survives.
