The hygiene reputation and what sits behind it
What sets the food-grade Flowcrete range apart is the combination of two things in one floor. The polyurethane screed is jointless and seamless, so there are no cracks or gaps where residue and bacteria can gather. On top of that the Flowfresh screeds carry a Polygiene antimicrobial additive designed to inhibit bacterial growth on the surface itself – a feature of that range rather than of every Flowcrete screed. Together they strip out most of the places contamination normally hides, which is what an auditor for a food or pharmaceutical site wants to see – alongside the cleaning regime that keeps the surface that way.
The same screeds are engineered for the physical punishment of a production floor: boiling washdown water, hot oil spillage, freezer-to-oven temperature swings and constant cleaning chemicals. A hygienic floor that could not take the heat would be no use, so durability and hygiene are specified together rather than traded off.

It would be a mistake to file Flowcrete under food and nothing else.
